Kids to seniors working to get in shape or train for a triathlon will have the chance to talk to local author and national expert, William Smith, at Barnes & Noble, Inc. in Springfield on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30 PM. Smith, and Co-author Paul Frediani, have teamed up for a new book, Tripower: The Ultimate Program for Triathlon Success, published in conjunction with Hatherleigh Press and Random House Distributors, emphasizes the need for perspective and dedication. Paul and will believe…“Balance in your life, systems of your body, and in your daily fitness regiment is vital to performance and longevity.” Smith, a Summit resident, is Director of Educational Development for CAN DO Fitness Clubs and founder of Will Power and Fitness Associates, LLC, a post-rehabilitation consulting business. Smith was previously the Assistant Director of a Big East Strength and Conditioning Department at St. John’s University. He continues to expand his professional relationships through his associations with the American Academy of Health Fitness and Rehab Professionals, Drive 495 performance center in NYC, and recently lectured with the American Heart Association in NJ on Implementing Healthy living Strategies in your Life. Smith was recently featured on Good Morning NY for sports performance training in the Fall of 2006.
Personally, Will practices what he preaches through constant conditioning, numerous triathlon and marathon finishes, as well as membership in the National Strength/Conditioning Association, American Association of Allied Health Fitness and Rehab Professionals, United States Weightlifting and Phi Epsilon Kappa Honors Fraternity.
