Pace: Intermediate, sometimes splits into two groups... Fast and not so fast
When: Just about every Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Where: The Sussex Ave./ Patriot's Path parking lot. See map below.
Why: ALL ABOUT FUN.
Directions: From The Green, (the park in the center of Morristown), bear right onto Speedwell Ave. (rt. 202 north). At the 4th traffic light, bear left onto Sussex Ave. The parking lot is a small gravel area about a quarter mile after the second traffic light on Sussex Ave. It is on the right.
The Wednesday night ride is fun times for everyone. The terrain is quite varied. We start on a very flat, gravel section of Patriot's Path, which is a fantastic warm-up. Then there is a semi-large climb and then a descent into Lewis Morris Park.
The riders usually split into the intermediate and advanced groups at this point.
Lewis Morris is very hilly and full of single-track. Many of the trails are brand new. (Thanks to the volunteers of the Morris Trails Partnership). After a few loops around Lewis Morris, we head back on Patriot's Path. The ride is usually between 15 and 20 miles.
There are often refreshments in the parking lot after the ride... bring your own if you want to be sure to have some!
